Finished off the marking for the paper I am tutoring today, was supposed to go out tonight but it was cancelled at the last moment, so im at home, alone, with nothing to do :(

Tomorrow I have to give a presentation of some kind of what I am working on in my masters, no idea what i am going to do, guess I will come up with something.

I nearly fainted at uni today (as well as yesterday) no idea why, my legs are also in much pain from all the jumping and stretching at Wu Shu on Wednesday.

Find all the music you listen to and write down the major bands (feel free to leave out one offs and such), put a star beside those you have a lot of. Leave a comment with what type of music you think I like.

So there is snow cloud over Auckland (though we are too low for it to still be snow when it gets down here). Go 1000m straight up and we will get snowed on, in fricken Auckland. Or we can just go about 100km south cause its apparently snowing in the Waikato.

6am Can't Sleep, I hate insomnia, I think I will just stay awake till the new Dr Who is available and then start cleaning at some of the room. Even watched some of the Blizzard WWI stuff (Q&A WoW panel). Thought of some more stuff for how to explain part of my thesis (Yay 4 types of reflexivity). Listening to some Killers at the moment, at least until I can manage to get my grubby hands on the Adoration CD (Import somehow I guess).

When you see this post, quote from Doctor Who (classic or new series) on your LJ.
"I can feel it - the turn of the Earth. The ground beneath our feet is spinning at a thousand miles an hour and the entire planet is hurtling around the Sun at sixty-seven thousand miles an hour, and I can feel it. We're falling through space, you and me. Clinging to the skin of this tiny little world, and if we let go.... "

Well I had a good night, left to go over to Dave's place at about 7.30 (Dave was out), got there about 8.10 due to having to travel from one side of Auckland to the other and stopping for something to eat (drinking on an empty stomach = bad). Stayed there for a while drinking my usual voda/coke zero mix, with some shots of Chartreause thrown in (Other Dave had never had it and liked it), was in the spa for a good part of it talking about random shit. Spa cooled too much so we got and and chatted and drank more. Took Ana home about 1am at which point she cooked me a nice french toast snack, talked for about another hour and a half. Came home, typed an LJ entry and went to bed. :)

Stolen from Darya who stole it from Steph

Step 1: Put your music player on shuffle.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 25ish songs that play, no matter how embarrassing.
Step 3: Strike through the songs when someone guesses both artist and track correctly.
Step 4: For those who are guessing -- looking the lyrics up on a search engine is CHEATING!
Step 5: If you like the game post your own.

So yesterday I went into Borders to see if there were any books I wanted (as I had a 40% off voucher). Looking around I found the Hardcover illustrated edition of Neil Gaiman's Stardust for $80. Less 40% I thought ok it will cost me about $48. Looking around some more I found another copy that was in sealed packaging so I took that one off the shelf and went to pay for it.

Now this copy did not have a price tag on it so the cashier did a search in their system, found the price ($24) and took off the 40% discount. Leaving me to pay $16 for the $80 book I went in for.

Oh and if you have not read Neil Gaiman's American Gods the full text is available here http://browseinside.harpercollins.com/index.aspx?isbn13=9780060558123

Somehow I failed to notice that the water had evaportaed from my finches water dish in the hot weather, now they are dead and I feel terrible especially since we rescued them from an aviary where they nearly died in due to lack of food and water.

They were in a cage beside my computer where I could always see that their water or food was getting low but I moved them into the lounge because they were getting seed all over my keyboard and there is more sunlight there. Unfortunatly this meant that I could not see at a glance what their water level was like, I had to stand on a table to see because the cage was hanging from the roof (to stop the cat from pulling the cage over again).

It cant have been more then a day but that is all it takes in this weather. I feel terrible, the other animals complain if they are low on food or water but all the finches can do is beep a bit more and hope I notice them foraging on the ground more then usual. I didn't notice.

Edit: Ok after some reading on the net it seems that Zebra finches can go quite some time without water, they have food in the cage so I am not entirely sure that they died from. We actually have no idea how old they were other then at least 6 years.

Do you cry out in your sleep
All my failings expose?
Get a taste in my mouth
As desperation takes hold
Is it something so good
Just cant function no more?
When love, love will tear us apart again

Ah an update, Hazzah!

Things have been ok recently. Last weekend was a bit of a downer as on Saturday my cat got put down (hereditary kidney disease), it would also have been my grandmothers birthday (she dies a few months back) and it was the anniversary of my grandfathers death (who I never met).

In better new I leave for Canberra in under two weeks to attend the ANU Logic Summer School, which is being fully paid for by ANU. I will be starting my Master of Arts degree in Logic and Computation next year (the first person to do so, and am the only person with a BA(Hons) in Logic & Computation) and results from last semester look promising (even though they don't count towards anything, yet). Have applied for tutoring for next year but since the department has not given me any in 3 years i'm not holding my breath.

I do however hate my job, I wish I could leave it and do something else (like programming) but with the course in Aus and christmas and new years coming up it has to wait.

My computer is currently dead, the psu died and give the motherboard a fatal disease that was not caught by the computer store and it has now taken out a 2nd psu. THankfully its all under warranty so I will get replacement bits. However raiding on my laptop sucks and pvp is out of the question.

I have found that I have not kept in contact with most of the friends I have had over the years (mostly because I lack email address and phone numbers and haven't sat down and collected them all). So if anyone does want to catch up over the christmas/new years period let me know, I miss you all *sniff*.

I'm trying to get out more but usually find out about social gatherings after they have happened (and am usually the sober driver when I do go out). I do have a new cell phone number 021 0257 5120, so feel free to text me if any thing is happening.
